Federated Wayback Machine

A federated-wayback-machine, is a way of archiving all content in the Federation. JSON from every site would be periodically archived in a decentralised manor.

If a site was to go down, or the software that runs it become outdated, the wayback-machine could provide an alternative immutable access.

#Versioned and Decentralised

Using IPFS and git, we can archive all the raw text, in a way in which we can roll-back in time, and without the need to have centralised server costs.

#Data for Search

Given this archive search Federated Search Engines could usefully use this archive to create their own customised search results. Each search-engine would serve to backup and preserve the IPFS archive simply by doing it's job.
